What do we do?

INVeg’s mission is: “To unite in compassion and educate about the ethical, environmental, economic, and health benefits of a plant-based diet.” How we do that is to create events and resources for people in the Inland Northwest(Washington, Idaho and Montana) to feel more connected and build up the plant-powered community. Here are a few of the projects that we work on:

  • Spokane VegFest
    • Spokane VegFest is Washington State’s largest plant-based living festival. In 2016 over 3,000 people came and learned more about plant-powered living. The event was featured on KREM 2 news. We featured Rich Roll and Gene Baur as our keynote speakers.
  • INVeg Mentorship Program
    • We have created a program to help veg-curious individuals learn more about plant-based living. We connect them with veteran vegans to support them on the journey. Please visit the Mentorship page for additional information.
  • Tofurkey Drive – In November we provide and deliver free, wholesome, healthy vegan holiday meals to those in our community that may not otherwise be able to afford them.
  • Monthly Potlucks – All potlucks, no matter what time of year, are the 3rd Sunday of every month from 5-7pm.
    • Summer Potlucks in the park. We meet at beautiful Manito park for an outdoor, picnic-style potluck. These summer events are a great way to meet members of the community, spend a warm summer evening outdoors and try new foods.
    • October – Halloween Potluck. At the start of fall, we bring the potlucks back indoors to the Spokane Women’s Club. At this potluck, guests can enjoy pumpkin carving, costumes and of course, a wide variety of vegan treats (no tricks).
    • November -Thanksvegan Potluck. At this event, members of the community get to mingle over classic holiday dishes made vegan and share in the joys of the beginning of the holiday season.
    • December – Holiday Celebration Potluck. At this semi-formal potluck, guests can celebrate the holidays with festive food, music, dancing, cookie-decorating and much more. This fun-filled night is the perfect way to add a little holiday cheer to your life.
    • January – May – Presentations. During the 2nd part of these potlucks, we feature doctors, herbalists, athletes, nutritionists and much more. INVeg strives to provide the community with access to free valuable information- as well as many different types of delicious food.
  • Vegan Business Growth Program – We partner with smaller vegan companies who want to grow in the Spokane market and connect them with local grocery stores and food distribution companies to assist the expansion into our region. We also help local vegan companies with local print, networking & social media marketing campaigns.
  • Intro to Plant-Powered Living Course
    • We teach this 4 week course at local organizations to help their members learn more about a plant-based life. If you would like to bring the Plant-Powered Living course to your business, church or organization please contact us.
  • Men’s, Women’s and Parents support groups – We have created 3 different support groups to help foster the community building in our community. If you would like to join one of the 3 groups please email support@kindliving.org
  • Vegan Resources and Support
    • We build up this website as a local resource for the region. The resources include: Vegan Restaurant Guides(Spokane, Coeur D’ Alene,Sandpoint , & Pullman/Moscow ), Local advocacy and animal welfare group guides, Vegan Health Practitioner Guides, Classifieds and much more. We keep adding to make this site a one-stop shop to get vegan support in the region.
  • INVeg Restaurant Certification Program – We connect with local veg-curious restaurants who want to learn more about veganism and how to incorporate more plant-powered food into their menu.
  • Tableing and advocacy at Local events
